About the Platform
What is this platform?
We are an independent, student-run platform designed to help you make informed decisions during course registration. It gives you structured, data-driven insights on professors, focused strictly on what matters for your internals and academic life, not general impressions.
Why does this exist?
Course registration is essentially blind. You pick a professor without knowing anything about their teaching style, grading approach, or how they treat students. This platform fixes that.
Who built this?
This platform was built independently by students. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to VIT in any way. The administration, faculty body, and institution had absolutely no involvement in its creation.
Is this really anonymous?
Yes. There are no accounts, no email sign-ups, and no way to trace a rating back to the student who submitted it. We collect a one-way browser fingerprint purely to stop the same person from rating the same professor multiple times.
Why no free-text reviews?
Because the moment you allow students to type freely, the platform becomes a legal liability and gets shut down. By using only structured ratings and pre-defined tags, every piece of content here is a statistical data point, not a statement. This gives the platform long-term survivability.
How are ratings calculated?
Each metric (Lecture Value, DA Leniency, Assignment Hassle, Vibe Check) is averaged across all submissions for that professor. The percentage score is the ratio of students who voted "W" on that professor. Absolutely no weighting or manual manipulation is applied.

1. What This Platform Is
We are an independent, student-run platform that allows students to anonymously submit structured ratings about their academic experience. It is not affiliated with, operated by, or approved by VIT or any educational institution.
2. Who Can Use This Platform
By using this platform, you confirm that you are a currently enrolled or previously enrolled student. You agree not to submit reviews about professors you have not personally had academic interaction with.
3. What You Can and Cannot Submit
You may submit:
- Star ratings (1 to 5) across the defined metric categories.
- Pre-defined tags from the provided list.
- A binary verdict (W/L) based on your personal academic experience.
You may NOT attempt to:
- Manipulate ratings through automated scripts, bots, or coordinated mass submissions.
- Submit reviews on behalf of other students.
- Use the platform to target, harass, or defame any individual.
4. Nature of Content
All submitted content is structured and pre-defined, there are no free-text fields. All ratings reflect the personal subjective opinions of individual students. They do not constitute official performance reviews, HR evaluations, or factual statements about any faculty member.
5. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability
This platform is provided as-is, for informational and personal academic planning purposes only. The operators accept no liability for any decisions made based on the content displayed here. Use this platform at your own discretion.
6. Takedown Requests
If you are a faculty member and believe information displayed about you is factually incorrect or was submitted in bad faith due to bot manipulation, you may contact us via the email listed in the footer. We will investigate and act in good faith.
Privacy Policy
1. What We Collect
When you submit a rating, we collect:
- Your responses to the structured rating form.
- A browser fingerprint: A non-reversible hash generated from publicly available browser signals (screen size, language, timezone). This is used only to prevent duplicate reviews. It is not linked to your identity.
- Your IP address and User-Agent: Used only for rate-limiting and spam detection. It is cached temporarily and never stored permanently or linked to your review.
We do NOT collect your name, email address, student ID, phone number, or any identifying information.
2. What We Do Not Collect
- We do not require accounts.
- We do not use tracking cookies.
- We do not run advertising networks or sell data.
- We do not use user-tracking analytics platforms (like Google Analytics).

4. Who Can See Your Data
No individual review is traceable back to you. Displayed data is always aggregated. The platform operators can see raw database entries, but have no way to identify who submitted what, the fingerprint is a one-way hash.
5. Security & Your Rights
All data is stored on a private server with restricted access. Because we collect no personally identifiable information, there is no profile to delete. If you need a submission removed for a valid reason, contact us with approximate submission details.
6. Is the VTOP Grade Scraper Safe?
Yes. The scraper is 100% untraceable and executes entirely locally on your device. We do not require your VTOP login credentials, nor does our server ever interact with VTOP directly. Here is exactly how it protects your account:
- Local Execution: The bookmarklet only reads the data currently loaded in your browser.
- Human-like Random Delays: To prevent tripping rate limits, the script uses randomized pauses indistinguishable from a student manually checking grades. Script A (Timetable) waits between 3.0 to 4.0 seconds before checking each semester. Script B (Grades) waits 1.3 to 1.8 seconds for the main semester page to load, and 1.2 to 1.6 seconds after clicking "View" for each individual class.
- Standard Requests: The script triggers VTOP's native functions mimicking normal mouse clicks.
- Complete Anonymity: Your registration number and personal details are completely ignored during scraping. Only aggregate class distribution data is packaged for upload.
